Network Operations Engineer (Temporary 12 months)

Location: San José, San Pedro

AT CRG we are looking for a Network Engineer who provides Tier 3 connectivity support with Global Communications and Information Security Services portfolio, including 1000+ Site Offices, four Global Data Centers and multiple cloud tenants including OCI and Azure. Works under general supervision of Global Network Operations management both independently and with other members of the Global Network Operations team to respond to Service Requests, Problems, Incidents and Change Requests.

Requirements:

  • Fluent in English. High Proficiency level (must).
  • Preferred Cisco Certified CCNP Enterprise certification or equivalent experience required.
  • 5+ years working with Cisco routing, switching and security devices.
  • 3+ years of experience administering firewalls and load-balancers.
  • Extensive experience administering and configuring layer 2 and layer 3 Cisco networks, experience or operational knowledge of Cisco firewalls, Linux based Apache reverse proxy and load-balancers preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of VLANs, spanning tree, BGP & EIGRP in highly redundant and diverse LAN/WAN/SD-WAN environments.
  • Extensive knowledge of Wireless LAN access points, connectors, survey and associated tools e.g. Cisco Prime.
  • Extensive knowledge of Remote Access user solutions including access protocols.
  • Experience working in a data center environment with Cisco networking, PaloAlto firewalls, F5 load-balancers, and software defined DCs.
  • Experience working with public and private cloud (VMWare, OCVS, OCI) heavily preferred.
  • Extensive experience with network monitoring tools. Ability to analyze data and deliver metrics associated with utilization, capacity and functional operation of the network.
  • Advanced experience with complex Visio drawings and other documentation media.
  • Advanced understanding of external and internal DNS.
  • Functional understanding of DHCP, NTP, SYSLOG, SNMP and related network services.
  • Advanced understanding of IP addressing including subnetting and supernetting.
  • Experience working from a ticketing system and responding to customers promptly.
  • Excellent customer service and communications skills.
  • Excellent presentation skills

Responsibilities:

  • Provide telephone-based support for services and functions for Tier 3 problems forwarded from the customer, problem escalation and assisting Tier 4 Engineering groups where needed to resolve issues.
  • Work with various customers and support groups in diagnosing service-related problems.
  • Review and maintain logs proactively resolving issues for managed services.
  • Ability to perform maintenance activities outside of normal business hours.
  • Present complex issues to senior level management in a concise and clear manner.
  • Participate in Shift Lead engineer work rotation including associated responsibilities.
  • Configure and troubleshoot Cisco routers in a large WAN and SDWAN environments.
  • Administer and configure layer 2 and layer 3 Cisco networks.
  • Monitor network tools. Analyze data and deliver metrics associated with utilization, capacity and functional operation of the network.
  • Comprehend and create complex network maps and drawings in standard design tools (i.e. Visio)
  • Provide proactive recognition and correction of network related problems.
  • Provide firewall and IPSEC support for business-to-business encryption domains.
  • Provide support to customers and staff during new WAN or datacenter installations.
  • Provide the coordination of repair and restoral efforts of various service providers, including monitoring services, telecommunication providers and ISPs.
  • Work with various customers and support groups in diagnosing service-related problems.
  • Ability to perform maintenance activities outside of normal business hours.
